Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, revealed the details of the Baghdad and Erbil meeting regarding the resumption of oil and its export through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Karim said that there is no agreement between the Minister of Oil and the Minister of Oil of the Region, but the two parties deliberately wrote a report regarding oil extraction and the cost of transportation and extraction, where the costs were discussed.
He added that the issue has not yet been decided between the two parties, and there will be proposals presented by each of them to the Federal Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and to the Prime Minister of the region, Masrour Barzani, and a press conference will be held in a few days to address this issue.
He explained that the proposals included the issue of extracting and transporting oil, and the government delegation confirmed that it would pay only 6 dollars, while the regional delegation indicated that the cost would be 22 dollars.
He pointed out that it was agreed to resume exporting the region's oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, and that the Federal Ministry of Oil is the one who determines the costs and agrees with the Turkish side regarding the region's oil exports due to the Turks' conditions in this regard.
He concluded his speech by saying: So far there is no agreement, only proposals.
Yesterday, Sunday, a government delegation from Baghdad, headed by Federal Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani, arrived in Erbil to discuss resuming oil exports with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
