The Dhi Qar Governorate Reconstruction Fund announced that the current year will witness the completion of the first phase of the Ur Tourist City and Sumerian Theater project.
The head of the fund, Muhammad al-Zaidi, told “Al-Sabah”: The completion rate in the Ur tourist city project reached 95%, while the second phase reached 51%, in addition to the completion of 79% of the project to establish the Sumerian theater and cultural center in the tourist city of Ur. Al-Zaidi pointed out the determination of the concerned authorities to maintain the completion of this project, which is an important cultural and civilizational event, on the specified dates, indicating that the Fund provided all support to the operating companies and urged them to open new work sites, raise the pace of work, and double the effort during the next stage. He explained that the project is receiving great attention from cultural circles in Iraq and the governorate, stressing the need for completion to be at the highest level in terms of adherence to the technical specifications agreed upon within the terms of the contract in order to complete the project within the specified period.
