Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Deputy spokesman for the US State Department, Vedant Patel, announced on Monday that the United States did not provide prior notification to Iraq before the strikes it launched on Friday on three militant sites inside Iraqi territory.
This statement clearly contradicts the statement of John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, who confirmed on Friday that the United States had informed Iraq before carrying out the strikes.
Addressing this contradiction between the two statements has created widespread controversy, as some wonder about the veracity and accuracy of the information provided by the American administration, and whether this difference in statements reflects confusion in the American position or is it deliberate behavior for political ends.
In light of this contradiction, the Iraqi government confirmed that it had not received any prior notification from the United States about the strikes, which led it to accuse John Kirby of lying and falsifying the facts.
Tensions escalated between Iraq and the United States, and it became apparent that there was a charged atmosphere that mimicked the relationship between Baghdad and Washington.
Many wondered whether these contradictory statements were intentional to provoke the Iraqi government and create a crisis between it and the armed factions, or whether they resulted from confusion in the statements of American officials, which highlights the lack of transparency and accuracy in communication between the two parties.
In the context of escalating tensions between Iraq and the United States due to contradictory statements about air strikes, many wonder how sustainable the relationship between the two countries is.
Conflicting statements from both sides have raised serious doubts about the extent of transparency and coordination between them, which may lead to aggravation of the crisis. Some suggest that this scenario may be deliberate by the United States to put pressure on the Iraqi government and create internal division.
Criticism of the US administration escalated due to differing statements between US officials, which raised questions about the extent of effective coordination within the administration. Some attribute these statements to the ambiguity of US policy in the region and the lack of a clear strategy.
While international and local parties are following developments in the relationship between Iraq and the United States with caution, some expect tensions to continue if the American vision is not clarified and effective coordination is achieved with the Iraqi government.
