    The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, announced on Wednesday the signing of an agreement with Siemens to convert burned gas into fuel within 6 months.
    The media office of the Minister of Electricity said in a statement, seen by Al-Eqtisad News, that “Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, signed in the German capital, Berlin, an important agreement with Siemens, to invest associated gas and convert it into electrical energy, with the aim of meeting the needs of citizens in a sustainable manner.” And he believed.”

    The minister stressed - according to the statement - that "the agreement comes as part of the efforts of the Iraqi government headed by Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to end the phenomenon of gas burning and invest it effectively in generating electrical energy, as well as within the framework of its commitment to the decisions of the Paris Climate Conference in preserving the environment and providing renewable energy sources." ".

    He stated, "The agreement is characterized by rapid implementation, as it includes investing about 120 million standard cubic feet (meaqf) of gas within a short period of 6 months, and an additional 120 (meaqf) within a period of one year, and the gas produced will be used to establish... An electrical station with a capacity of 2000 megawatts, to enhance the capabilities of the electrical network and ensure the stability of processing hours.

    The statement continued, "Siemens Energy CEO Christian Bruch, for his part, praised the efforts made by the Iraqi government to overcome the challenges and obstacles that have faced the energy sector over many years, stressing that" Iraq has succeeded during the past few years in establishing many Among the infrastructure projects that will contribute to building real capabilities for the country’s energy sector.”
