    The Kurdistan region of Iraq is looking forward to receiving more than a quarter of a million tourists from inside and outside the region during the days of Eid al-Fitr, especially as it coincides with the atmosphere of spring, amid comprehensive preparations to achieve this, in addition to achieving 8 million tourists during the current year.

    The director of tourism marketing in Kurdistan, Sirwan Tawfiq, said that the plan drawn up by the Tourism Authority and with the support of the regional government seeks to attract large numbers of tourists from inside and outside the region, especially with the spring holidays, the mild weather, and the approaching Eid al-Fitr.



    He expressed his hope that the total number of tourists will reach more than 8 million tourists during the current year, indicating that the authority’s plan aims to develop tourism to reach 20 million tourists by 2030, according to the government newspaper Al-Sabah.

    Tawfiq indicated that coordination and cooperation are continuing with The security services, especially in the border controls with other governorates, in order to facilitate the passage of tourists with ease and without delay and waiting in long lines.

    He explained that the mobile field teams are continuing their work to identify the problems and obstacles facing tourists, and also inspection campaigns are continuing for restaurants, hotels and tourist areas in order to provide the best Services for tourists, expecting thousands of tourists to visit the region in its three governorates with the advent of Eid al-Fitr.
