The Kurdistan Democratic Party, on Thursday, renewed its support for the Kurdistan Region Presidency and the regional government, to resolve the outstanding issues and problems with the federal government in Baghdad.
This came during the meeting of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Masoud Barzani, which was held this evening, according to a statement
. The party’s statement stated that “the problems between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government should have been resolved in accordance with the constitution and political and administrative agreements, especially the issue of salaries and the regional budget, which were agreed upon several times, and the federal government did not commit to implementing them as it should have, and employees in particular were the most concerned group and suffered from the failure to remove these obstacles.”
According to the statement, the attendees stressed the necessity of “implementing the constitution and agreements, urging the federal government to pay attention to this issue and not delay it further, and sending the salaries and budget of the Kurdistan Region on time.”
The meeting renewed its support for the Kurdistan Region Presidency and the regional government to “resolve issues and problems, as well as hold elections for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament.”
