    Every now and then, the concerned authorities in Umm Qasr port announce the thwarting of attempts to smuggle goods into and out of Iraq. Some of these goods are banned from entering Iraq, but there are goods that enter the country despite being seized as smuggled goods, as the owner of the goods has a relationship with senior officials, which leads to pressure to bring them in.
    Recently, the Umm Qasr Middle Port witnessed an attempt to smuggle vehicles that were detained due to violations, as there are pressures working to get these vehicles out by circumventing the law.

    A security source in Basra revealed that there are strict measures to prevent the smuggling of vehicles detained in the Umm Qasr Middle Port.

    The source told Sumaria News, "There are strict security measures near Warehouse 21 in the Umm Qasr Middle Port to prevent the smuggling of detained vehicles."

    He stated that "the reason for its seizure is due to violations of import conditions and regulations."

    In contrast, appeals have been made to the Integrity Commission to stand against attempts to smuggle these vehicles detained in the port.Umm Qasr.

    Observers called on the authority to intervene and prevent cases of pressure to attempt smuggling.

    They also demanded that the officials involved in the smuggling be referred to the judiciary and investigated to uncover the networks, the smuggling godfathers and those responsible for this suspicious deal, noting that the responsible authorities should not submit to the pressures they face from some influential people to pass this corrupt deal.
