    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Economic expert, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, confirmed today, Friday, that Iraq is suffering from major financial difficulties.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Marsoumi said in a post on Facebook, which was followed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “the recent government decisions regarding attempts to seize the financial resources of oil companies and maximize non-oil revenues by raising customs duties on the import of some goods and attempting to raise tax revenues indicate that the government is actually suffering from financial difficulties.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Marsoumi added, “The reasons for this financial distress are the result of the significant growth in public expenditures, which reached 41% during the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, while the growth in government revenues did not exceed 20%.”[/rtl]
