    Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq’s sales increased in the currency auction on Wednesday, compared to yesterday’s sales, Tuesday.
    Shafaq News Agency correspondent stated that the Central Bank sold today, during its auction for buying and selling the US dollar, 276 million 840 thousand and 395 dollars, which the bank covered at a base exchange rate of 1,310 dinars per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards, and at 1,310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers, at a price 1305 dinars per dollar in cash.
    Our correspondent added; Most of the bank's dollar sales went to strengthening balances abroad in the form of (remittances, credits) which amounted to 201 million, 280 thousand and 395 dollars, an increase of 62% over cash sales of 75 million and 560 thousand dollars.
    Our correspondent indicated that the number of banks that bought the cash dollar reached 7 banks, while the number of banks that responded to requests to enhance balances abroad reached 16 banks, while the total number of exchange and brokerage companies participating in the auction was 46 companies.
