    [size=52]The Minister of Labor launches a package of decisions to regulate the situation of Arab and foreign workers in Iraq[/size]

    [size=45]Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, launched a package of decisions to regulate the situation of Arab and foreign workers in Iraq.[/size]
    [size=45]A statement issued by the Ministry quoted Al-Asadi as saying, “These decisions come out of belief in the role of operating companies, and in line with the directives of the National Service Government and the government programme,” pointing out that “the Ministry raised the slogan this year as (the Year of Work) to activate the role of the Department of Labor and Social Security, And the Occupational Health and Safety Department.”[/size]
    [size=45]Among the most prominent decisions, according to the statement:[/size]
    [size=45]* Stop dealing with companies that violate the instructions for one month, and if they continue, their license will be withdrawn.[/size]
    [size=45]* Reducing fees on employment requests from one million dinars to 250 thousand.[/size]
    [size=45]* Increasing recruitment of workers from 20 to 40 workers per month.[/size]
    [size=45]* Issuing special identities for those authorized to review the ministry’s departments.[/size]
    [size=45]* Providing a monthly report on the situation of female workers employed by others.[/size]
    [size=45]* Increasing electronic payment devices (pos) and increasing the number of employees.[/size]
    [size=45]* Requesting companies to submit a quarterly report, every 90 days, on the labor used, and where it was distributed, whether to homes or to companies.[/size]
    [size=45]* Every company that delays in complying with the instructions and submitting reports to the Ministry of Labor is given one month to fulfill its obligations. Otherwise, it is given a written warning for a month. If it does not comply after the written warning, its labor recruitment license will be withdrawn.[/size]
    [size=45]* Issuing identities approved by the Ministry of Labor for authorized companies to facilitate the review of authorized persons, their access to the Ministry’s departments, and the rapid completion of their work.[/size]
    [size=45]* Forming a central committee to study requests to reduce employment submitted by companies, laboratories, and factories, after the inspection report is issued, in order to achieve transparency and not allow exploitation of workers’ conditions, or pressure on them.[/size]
    [size=45]* With regard to the full-time employee: allowing the entry of the employee according to the mechanisms for employing housekeepers, and the Department of Labor and Vocational Training is responsible for sending copies of vacations and all information related to the sponsor of the foreign worker.[/size]
    [size=45]* Approval of establishing a union of companies, which in turn will follow up with the ministry to complete the procedures related to establishing this union to work on following up on everything related to the affairs of these companies and the recruitment of foreign workers.[/size]
    [size=45]* Emphasizing the necessity of applying Labor Law No. 37 of 2015 regarding the employment of an Iraqi worker to every foreign worker except housekeepers and full-time employees.[/size]
