Once again, the issue of withdrawing American forces from Iraq returns to the forefront, and America is still trying to procrastinate withdrawing its forces from Iraq despite the Parliament’s decision that committed the government to ending the foreign presence.
Therefore, the executive authority obtained full authority to end this presence, and the ball is now in the Sudanese court to pressure the joint committees to work more quickly.
Speaking about this file, Ali Al-Bandawi, a member of the Security and Defense Committee, accused the United States of obstructing the work of the Iraqi committees tasked with withdrawing its forces from Iraq.
Al-Bandawi said in a statement, "The American presence has now become unacceptable and harmful to the country at the same time, and we are working hard to resolve this issue," stressing "the necessity of unifying positions to end the American military presence inside Iraq."
He explained that “Iraq does not need any combat forces present within its territory, and the security situation today is better with the presence of the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces.”
He added, “The work of the committees is still continuing to end this presence, and there is no specific date for its end,” noting that “what comes out of this committee will be binding on the American side and the government must implement it.”
He added, "The American occupation has worked during the past period to obstruct the work of the committees tasked with ending its presence. Despite this, the committee's position remains firm, and we are determined to end this presence."
Observers stressed the need to set a timetable for the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq, as this issue has taken a long time and is a broad controversy and must be resolved quickly. The government’s silence regarding the work of the committees has generated popular and parliamentary discontent, and they demanded that Al-Sudani reveal the truth about the work of these committees.
In this regard, Ahmed Al-Sudani, a member of the State of Law Coalition, called on the Iraqi government to work more seriously on the issue of ending the American presence.
Al-Sudani said in a statement, “The American presence in Iraq is rejected by the people and officially, which was previously confirmed by the Iraqi parliament, and its continued presence constitutes a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty,” noting that “objections to the American presence in Iraq are increasing, especially in light of the American procrastination in withdrawing.”
He added, “Washington is working to preserve the terrorist ISIS card to justify its military presence in Iraq, achieve its regional interests, and pass its subversive agendas against the countries of the region.”
It shows that “the continued presence of American forces in Baghdad and some Iraqi cities reveals the truth of their combat presence, not the advisory and training presence that the American administration is promoting.”
The American military presence in Iraq is not in Iraq's interest, and the people realize that the task of ending this presence is very difficult for the Sudanese. They know that there is no sovereignty, political and security stability in Iraq and the region in light of the American military presence on Iraqi soil, and they hope that this file may end as soon as possible. 25 d expired
