Shafaq News/ The American organization "CBT" announced, on Saturday, the movements of the Turkish army and the gathering of its forces towards Mount "Kara", which overlooks the Amadiya district, north of Dohuk. This step comes after the deployment of its military forces in several areas within the "Matin" mountain range parallel to Mount "Kara".
The head of the human rights department in the organization, Kamiran Othman, confirmed to Shafaq News Agency, "The Turkish army began new military operations in mid-June, and established seven new military sites in the district of Bativa, which is affiliated with the administration of the independent Zakho region, and also established two military points in the Nahili area on the slopes of Mount Matin."
He added that "the Turkish army is currently carrying out intensive air strikes on several areas in Mount Kareh in preparation for its invasion," explaining that "if the Turkish forces are able to control strategic points in the mountain, Dohuk Governorate may lose between 70 and 75 percent of its territory."
Osman pointed out that "the recent military operations of the Turkish army against the Kurdistan Workers' Party militants in Amadiyah district resulted in the displacement of the residents of nine villages and the displacement of more than 184 families, in addition to the destruction and damage of more than 68 thousand dunums of agricultural land."
Osman concluded his speech by expressing his surprise at “the failure of the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to condemn these operations, and the lack of a response from the international community and major countries such as the United States and Britain towards what is happening in the areas of Dohuk Governorate.”

For his part, Adeeb Majeed, the mayor of Miska village, affiliated with the Kani Masi district in Amadiyah district, confirmed that the villagers tried to return to it after their displacement, but the Turkish forces prevented them from reaching it.
In an interview with Shafaq News Agency, a number of displaced people from Miska village spoke, where one of them said: "We were living in our village, practicing our work in agriculture and raising animals, and suddenly clashes broke out between the Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers' Party in the vicinity of our village, and artillery shells and rifle bullets hit our homes, which forced us to flee and leave the village."
He added: "We are now displaced, some of us went to Zakho and others to Dohuk. Until now, we have not received any assistance from any government agency or charitable organizations."
It is noteworthy that the Mukhtar of Miska village, affiliated with Kani Masi district in Amadiyah, Adeeb Majeed, confirmed to Shafak News Agency on Saturday of last week, that "the people of the villages of (Tishmbi and Jamalki) were displaced from their villages due to the armed conflict between the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the Turkish army.
Majeed added, "The Turkish army was stationed inside their village (Miska) and the nearby village (Darkli), after its residents were displaced a week ago.
He explained that "the Turkish army set up checkpoints on the roads, preventing the passage of the people of the villages in this area," noting that the Turkish bombing caused severe damage to the homes of the villagers and destroyed thousands of acres of agricultural land.

A security source in Dohuk reported, on Wednesday evening, July 10, that three artillery shells fell on a village in the Amadiya district, north of the province.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "A shell fell near a school in the village of (Sarkali) affiliated with the Amadiyah district, and two other shells fell near citizens' homes, without causing any human casualties."
He said, "The shells fell during the ongoing battles between the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the Turkish army in the region."
It is worth noting that the villages of Amadiya witnessed the outbreak of large fires on July 11, in the farms of the people of the village of (Sikri), and the destruction of hundreds of acres of old trees after artillery shells fell in the vicinity of the village as a result of the ongoing battles between the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the Turkish army.
