The Parliament Presidency removed the general amnesty law paragraph from the agenda of today's session, Saturday, and postponed it to tomorrow's session, Sunday, while the discussion and disagreements are still raging around the law.

The media department of the House of Representatives published an amendment to the agenda of today's session, Saturday, which included the paragraph of the first reading of the general amnesty law. The paragraph was removed from today's session, Saturday, and included in the agenda of tomorrow's session, Wednesday.

Observers believe that the general amnesty law has become a bargaining chip against the legislation of the personal status law that has sparked political and popular controversy, as some Shiite forces want to put the general amnesty law demanded by the Sunni forces as a bargaining chip against the legislation of the personal status law.

Some Shiite political forces' representatives accuse the law of aiming to release and pardon some terrorists, while the Sunni political forces deny this, as there is disagreement over the definition of "who is a terrorist?", as the accusation of terrorism has extended to people who have not committed actual crimes, as the anti-terrorism law punishes even those who have "knowledge of an act that may be classified as a terrorist act," which makes the definition of a terrorist a matter of dispute in the law.

Observers expect the law to be removed from the session's agenda and postponed until the next session tomorrow, so that the political forces can gain more time to agree on redefining who is covered by the law.
