    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Migration and Displacement revealed new statistics on the numbers of displaced persons remaining in the camps, while confirming that there is a trend to include women and the elderly in social welfare salaries.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Migration, Karim Al-Nouri, said, "The number of displaced families remaining in the camps is 24,000, most of whom are from Sinjar district in Nineveh, and are present in 15 camps in Dohuk and 6 camps in Erbil."
He added, "The recent period witnessed the return of 450 displaced families to their homes through the combined efforts of the ministry and other concerned parties," noting that "the four million dinar grant is being distributed to the returning families, as well as equipping them with furniture, electrical appliances, and durable goods, in addition to the food ration."
He added, "We have coordination with the Ministry of Labor to include some of the eligible returnees from the families, such as women and the elderly, in social welfare salaries, and to train the rest in jobs and professions to employ them."
He pointed out that "the ministry proposed building low-cost homes for returnees whose homes were destroyed to encourage them to return and settle down, and is currently coordinating with the governorates to achieve this."
