    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
An Iraqi political source revealed, today, Thursday (August 15, 2024), a Gulf message that was recently conveyed to Baghdad regarding Tehran’s security, containing 3 points, including the rejection of using its territory against Iran.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "One of the important Gulf embassies in Baghdad conveyed a message about its position on any strike targeting Tehran if the latter responds to Tel Aviv over the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh two weeks ago."
He added, "The personality stressed three important points: that all Gulf countries do not support the option of war at all and will not give America the green light to bomb Tehran from its bases in anticipation of an Iranian reaction, and that they want calm and stability."
The source pointed out that "the personality hinted that the change of regimes did not bring security to the Middle East, in reference to their belief that the change of the regimes of Saddam and Abdullah Saleh created greater problems for the security of the Gulf in light of the unrest and problems that are reflected in the atmosphere of the Gulf in general."
He explained that "the personality indicated that any strike on Iran would lead the entire Gulf to a very dangerous turning point in light of the presence of dozens of American bases in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain," noting that "the Gulf countries want Iran not to interfere in their affairs and to change the strategy of supporting armed groups."
He added, "The Gulf states realize that any chaos in Iran will not stop within a specific geography, especially since the link between the two shores of the Gulf is a short distance."
