[rtl]The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed an upcoming visit to the Kurdistan Region in the middle of this week, with the aim of discussing the region’s financial resources and its obligations towards the federal government in Baghdad.[/rtl]

[rtl]Jamal Kojer, a member of the committee, said, “The visit aims to review the available resources in the region and its financial obligations towards Baghdad, in addition to studying how to maximize these resources in line with the government’s aspirations,” noting that “the Finance Committee has already begun hosting the various ministries one after the other, to discuss their resources and plans to maximize revenues, the latest of which were meetings with the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Electricity, and the Chief of Staff,” according to the official newspaper.[/rtl]

[rtl]He added, "The committee met with the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, who requested that some funds be allocated to the Iraqi Air Force in next year's budget, given that Iraq, after the withdrawal of the international coalition, does not have sufficient air military capabilities to provide air cover," stressing that "the Finance Committee will include the needs of the Air Force in next year's budget to cover this deficit."[/rtl]

[rtl]For her part, committee member Ikhlas al-Dulaimi confirmed that "the upcoming visit to the Kurdistan Region comes to follow up on the developments and challenges facing the region and the federal government."[/rtl]

[rtl]She explained that "the visit aims to coordinate between the two parties and exchange views on the laws affecting the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil," adding that "the main goal is to find solutions to common challenges and enhance financial cooperation between the two parties."[/rtl]

[rtl]She explained that "the Finance Committee requested the preparation of a study of the tax and customs laws, to be submitted to the committee with the aim of maximizing state revenues." In turn, committee member Mahasin Al-Hamdoun told Al-Sabah: "The Finance Committee carries out its work in making decisions, and submits proposals to the committee chairman who approves them."[/rtl]
[rtl]In turn, it may be necessary to host the executive authorities,” indicating that “the head of the committee approves any request from the members, and until now the laws submitted to the committee are being studied and presented to Parliament.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Hamdoun pointed out that "a delegation from the Finance Committee is scheduled to visit the Kurdistan Region this week to meet with the regional government."[/rtl]
