    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Health has imposed new fees on medical services provided in its institutions.
A document issued by the ministry, which was reviewed by Al-Eqtisad News, stated that the Opinion Authority decided, based on the requirements of the public interest and for the purpose of providing the necessary supplies for health services in government institutions, to implement the new fees in hospitals, specialized centers and primary health care centers as of October 1, 2024.
The Authority explained in the document that the price of the review card in primary health care centers will be 1,000 dinars, while the price of the review card in consulting clinics and outpatient clinics in hospitals and specialized centers will be 3,000 dinars.
It was also decided that the price of a prescription medicine in pharmacies, outpatient clinics, consulting clinics, and specialized and health centers would be one thousand dinars.
The decision stipulated that emergency visits would be free of charge, and the cost of hospitalization in public and specialized hospitals was set at 10,000 dinars, paid once, regardless of the number of days of hospitalization, including hospitalization in oncology and cancer treatment hospitals, and atomic medicine and radiation hospitals.
The Ministry also directed the placement of billboards in hospitals to clarify the differences between real prices, services and imposed prices, in addition to launching advertising campaigns regarding requests and imposed fees, and specifying visiting times for hospitalized patients.
