    Al-Maalouma / Baghdad ..
Legal expert Salem Hawas confirmed, on Sunday, the right of the government and citizens who suffered harm to file a lawsuit against the assassinations carried out by the United States of America during its occupation of Iraq to this day.
Hawas said in a statement to /Al-Maalouma/ agency, that "the assassinations that targeted leaders of the Popular Mobilization Forces as well as important figures during the period of the occupation of American forces to this day inside Iraqi territory violate the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and fall under the category of genocide and crimes against humanity and aggression defined by the Rome Statute on which the rulings of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands are based."
He added that "the government and citizens who suffered harm have the right to go to national courts to prosecute the Americans in accordance with the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 in force, as well as legal prosecution before the International Criminal Court and demand the imposition of penalties and the imposition of material and material compensation."
