[rtl]Basra / NINA / The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, announced today, Sunday, the completion of infrastructure work for the ten sections of the tunnel, one of the projects of the Grand Faw Port.
Al-Fartousi said in a statement, "The company implementing the Grand Faw Port project has completed the infrastructure work for the ten parts that make up the submerged part of the tunnel, where all the doors of the parts have been installed and coated with protective materials," indicating that "all the requirements for the flotation facilities have also been completed."
He explained that "the implementing company is preparing in the coming days to open the water and fill the basin to conduct the inspection and testing, and then float towards the tunnel path in the Khor Al-Zubair Canal." It is noteworthy
that the submerged tunnel project (Basra Tunnel) is one of the giant projects, and it is one of the Grand Faw Port projects, as the tunnel passes under the Khor Al-Zubair navigational canal with a length of (2.4) km, and connects the cities of Umm Qasr and Al-Faw, and is considered the link between the port of Faw and the Iraqi development channel that will link the east to the west, and will be of great importance in serving the global transport movement. / End[/rtl]
