Washington considered the Director General of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde on Monday that the decline in oil prices is a "good news" for the global economy. Lagarde said during a round table in Washington, "there will be winners and losers, but according to the rule is clear, it is good news for the global economy."

The decline in crude oil price in the form of an unprecedented and by up to thirty percent since June last to close at about seventy dollars a barrel, the lowest level in five years.

She said Lagarde "while witnessing a decline of thirty percent (...), this should be translated surplus (growth) rate of 0.8 percent in the most developed economies, which are all importing oil," adding that its view will inevitably be different if it were talk in Saudi Arabia or Qatar or Kuwait.

It recognized that the oil-exporting countries "affected" the great decline in prices, but this effect was calculated in relation to some of these countries. Despite falling prices, kept the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries members (OPEC) output ceiling unchanged during their last meeting on 27 November / November

Can it really be the Shale oil production in Texas that has affected the price this much world wide? as some articles are aluding to, that seems a bit much for one area of discovery, granted its a large find, but didn't the US also find more than that in South Dakota recently?
