He pointed out that the ministry is working to facilitate all procedures related to the census according to the programs adopted by the Ministry of Planning, especially since large numbers of displaced persons are still outside the camps, which requires additional effort to accurately count their numbers.

Al-Nouri added that the Ministry of Planning has formed committees to count the numbers of displaced persons in the country in general, and there is cooperation from the branches of the Ministry of Migration, especially in the liberated governorates, which will make it easier for the ministry to know their numbers and provide assistance to them.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The ministry focused on including the displaced in the population census and not excluding them in any way.

In the same context, Sharif Suleiman, a member of the parliamentary Immigration and Community Reconciliation Committee, said that the committee affirms its support for the displaced people living in and outside the camps.

He explained that the number of displaced families outside the camps exceeds the number of registered people living in the camps of the Kurdistan Region, as their total number ranges between 800,000 and one million displaced people residing in the region and the governorates of Nineveh, Anbar, the outskirts of Baghdad and some other governorates.

He stressed that the committee is working to improve the conditions of the displaced to fix the defect in their voluntary return file, noting that ending their suffering is one of the most important issues that the parliamentary committee is currently working on, according to the official Al-Sabah newspaper.
