[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri announced the mechanism and stages of launching the national license for mobile phones with fifth-generation technology, and the benefits and returns that it will achieve.
Al-Yasiri said in a press conference: "Negotiations have begun with companies with global brands to operate the national license after the Council of Ministers voted to form a team headed by her / the Minister / to negotiate directly with international operators with experience and specialization and have experiences in Middle Eastern countries."
She pointed out that this came as a result of the direct support and continuous follow-up by the Prime Minister and ministers and the efforts of Parliament in voting on the decision to launch the fifth generation project within the government program. She
continued: "The decision authorized the Ministry of Communications to negotiate with international companies and provide financial support to prepare the preliminary procedures for launching the national license project in the coming months."
The minister said: "With intensive efforts in the services government, we succeeded in convincing international operators to work in Iraq as an attractive environment for investment and supportive of investors, providing all the capabilities to develop the Iraqi infrastructure to provide the best services to citizens."
She explained: "The ministry worked on three main axes, starting with attracting solid international companies despite the region's circumstances and communicating with the Communications and Media Commission to provide the technical requirements necessary to launch the license, in addition to working with the retirement and guarantee funds to secure financing for the project in a way that guarantees the benefit of a wide segment of society."
She stressed that: "For the first time in the history of Iraq, there will be a government mobile phone license with modern technology that provides tremendous internet speeds and supports digital transformation, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and maximizes the state's non-oil financial revenues." /End9[/rtl]
