The member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Muhannad Aqrawi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Democratic Party does not have the majority in these elections that would enable it to form the regional government.
Aqrawi said in a statement that "there are many changes that occurred during these elections, including the loss of several seats by the Democratic Party," indicating that "the party does not have the majority in these elections that would enable it to form the government on its own."
He added that "the scene of electoral alliances in the region is not clear yet and talking about it is premature," noting that "the formation of this government comes through the internal situation in Iraq in general and Kurdistan in particular."
Earlier yesterday, the Election Commission announced the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, which were held under its supervision. End 25d
