    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities revealed, on Monday, the latest developments in the work of the residential cities of Al-Ghazlani and Al-Jawahari, while confirming the imminent announcement of new projects.
The ministry’s spokesman, Nabil Al-Saffar, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “five residential cities have been started within the government program in the housing file, including Al-Ghazlani City, where the land was handed over to the implementing Chinese company with the completion of the designs and it began actual work after preparing the caravans for the workers and they began work.”
He added, "As for Ali Al-Wardi City, it is currently in the process of approving the designs, as the initial designs were submitted and there were some amendments to them. The implementing company was handed over part of the land area allocated for the project, amounting to 8 thousand dunums, and work will begin soon."
He continued, "As for the rest of the residential projects, they are in the process of removing the conflicts and violations on their lands, as well as completing the expropriations, which was the most important problem facing us," noting that, "In cooperation with the governorates, we are preparing the lands for the purpose of announcing other new cities in the near future."
