    Discussed the US Assistant Secretary of State Tom Malinowski, with Iraqi officials, human rights issues, stressing the need for the international community to assist the Iraqi government in order to stabilize the liberated areas, and to ensure the safe return of displaced people to it. 

    A statement from the Office of the Spokesman for the US Embassy in Baghdad, was released on Thursday, "the US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Tom Malinowski visited Iraq from February 21 to 24, accompanied by the Special Adviser to religious minorities, Knox Thames, and the Ambassador US United in Iraq Stuart Jones, to discuss human rights issues with senior Iraqi government and judicial officials, and leaders of civil and religious society. " 

    The statement added that "the assistant secretary of state held in Erbil to meet with the Minister of Anfal and Martyrs, Mahmoud Saleh, head of external relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Falah Mustafa, Minister of the Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Acting Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Karim Sinjari, the President of the Presidium Kurdistan regional government, Fuad Hussein. " 

    He said the US embassy statement said Malinowski met with activists in the field of civil society, and Christian leaders, also visited with religious and political leaders Yazidis, for Walsh shrine in Dohuk province and discussed during the meetings atrocities committed by the "Daash," and the need to integrate minorities in Iraq, and considers this the first visit of its kind for the US senior official to the mausoleum of Aesidein. 

    The statement also pointed out that US Assistant Secretary of State met with Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, thanked his efforts to ensure the work of all security forces under the control of the government, and to respect and protect civilians and private property, and religious sites in all the liberated areas. 

    The statement pointed out that the US assistant secretary of state stressed in all meetings of the United States' commitment to the protection of minorities, and prevent revenge attacks on them, pointing to support the safe and voluntary return of internally displaced people.
