OPEC: Algeria meeting would be "consultative"

Twilight News / announced by the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammad Barkindo that the informal meeting of the Organization on September 27 in Algeria would be "consultative" and would not lead to decisions.
In recent weeks, crude prices have maintained their levels in the hope that the OPEC countries are compatible to reduce production during the meeting of Algeria.
He announced Algerian Energy Minister Noureddine Bouterfa last week in Moscow that the meeting would be "an opportunity to reach agreement facilitates stability in the oil market," according to AFP.
But Barkindo said of Algeria as quoted by the Algerian News Agency that the meeting "informal" and would not make decisions other than the meeting in Oran in 2008.
"The bilateral meetings between OPEC members" will also be held.
OPEC holds its meeting on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum to be between 26 and September 28 in the Algerian capital.
Barkindo He said that the Forum is an opportunity "very important" for producing and consuming countries to consult with each other on issues "linked to the global economy and the oil and gas industry in the world."
