Iraq Stock Exchange announced, yesterday, it traded trillion financial shares valued at 522 billion dinars in 2016, noting that the market index closed at 649 points.
The executive director of the market , Taha Ahmed Abdul Salam , in a press statement, said that «Iraq Stock Exchange concluded its activities on Monday, making her the last trading session of 2016», indicating it «organized during this year 's trading session 234».
He said Abdel - Salam said « the market traded through 2016 trillion shares , Iraqi companies and contribute to the rate of increase of 67 percent compared to last year in 2015.»
He added that « the value of traded shares amounted to 522 billion dinars , and amounted to an increase of 5 percent compared to last year», pointing out that »Iraq Stock Exchange index closed at 649 points , «.
In the same context , the Governing Council of the Iraqi market for securities announced that it will resume trading in the first session of 2017 , the second Monday of January 2017 after a trading halt on the stock exchange since Monday on the occasion near the year end of 2016.
According to a report of the Iraqi market for securities that the index year weekly Stock Exchange rise in the number of shares traded saw a 36 percent compared to last week , as the number of shares traded this week , 45 billion shares to 33 billion shares.

traded this week , 29 billion dinars to 35 billion dinars.
