Canadiens at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 p.m. Saturday: Five things to know

The Montreal Canadiens, 22-9-5, will close out 2016 on Saturday with a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, 24-8-5, at PPG Paints Arena (7 p.m., CBC, TVA Sports, TSN 690 Radio). Here are five things you should know about the game:
Rematch of contenders: In their last meeting on Oct. 18, the Canadiens opened their home schedule by blanking the Penguins 4-0. Montreal leads the Atlantic Division with 49 points for a five-point edge over second-place Ottawa. Pittsburgh has 53 points, good for second in the Metropolitan Division behind red-hot Columbus, which holds a one-point lead and three games in hand.
New line produces: In their second game together, Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher and Phillip Danault each scored a goal Thursday as the Canadiens rallied to beat the Florida Panthers 3-2 in overtime. After a slump in November, when he was dealing with a hairline fracture in his ankle, Pacioretty is back on pace to top 30 goals for a fourth consecutive season.
One-two punch: Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have each won two NHL scoring titles and they are battling for the honour this season. Crosby leads the NHL with 26 goals and is tied for the league lead with 42 points. Malkin is right behind him with 41 points, including 15 goals.
Fleury No. 1 by default: Marc-André Fleury has lost his No. 1 goaltending job to Matt Murray, but the Sorel native will start against Montreal because Murray suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Carolina. Fleury has an 11-5-4 record along with a 3.13 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. He also tops the list of goalies who may be available at the trading deadline.

Injury update: While Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais are back in Montreal taking the next steps toward a comeback from knee injuries, Murray isn’t the only Penguin on the limp. Brian Dumoulin is out with a broken jaw, while Kris Letang and Tom Kuhnhackl are recovering from lower-body injuries. Letang, a Montreal native, was cleared to practise on Friday. He said his goal is to play against the Canadiens, but he’s not going to do anything to jeopardize his long-term health.
