A source close to the Prime Minister Haider Abadi, near the latter's visit to the Turkish capital Ankara, indicating that the visit came to coordinate positions between the two countries before the referendum on the independence of the Kurdistan region.

"The visit of Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi to Ankara came as part of a Turkish invitation addressed to him by Foreign Minister Mouloud Chaouishoglu, who visited Baghdad last month and met with the prime minister, who told him the need to withdraw Turkish troops from the city, Baasika east of the city of Mosul, which was liberated by the Iraqi forces on July 10 last. "

The source added that "the objective of the visit is to discuss bilateral relations," pointing out that "the most important files to be discussed, is the referendum, which Erbil intends to conduct on time, to coordinate positions between Ankara and Baghdad, which reject him."

"Officials will also discuss counter-terrorism and investment files," the source said.
