Abadi: We will use force if the Kurdistan referendum leads to violence
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]BAGHDAD - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said he was ready to intervene militarily if the referendum on the independence of the Kurdistan region to violence.
"If the Iraqi population is threatened with the use of force outside the law, we will intervene militarily," Abadi said in an interview with the Associated Press on Saturday.
The Kurdistan region plans to hold a referendum on supporting independence from Iraq on September 25. Finished
