    Baghdad - Journal News
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Iraqi parliament's finance committee confirmed on Tuesday its intention to cut quotas for state employees in the 2018 budget of 4.8 to 3.8 or 2.8 percent.
A member of the committee, "Hossam al-Aqabi," in a statement to the «Journal News» that "the government's deductions for salaries of employees in the budget of 2018, which was set by 4.8 is unjustified and exaggerated," stressing the need to "reduce that ratio to 3.8 or 2.8."
He asked, "Why did the state go to salaries of employees despite the stability of oil prices?", Calling for "the search for non-oil revenues and work to improve and increase."
Al-Aqabi pointed out that "the reduction of salaries is considered revenues of the government is estimated at (2) trillion," ruling out "the abolition of the paragraph salaries of salaries of employees of the budget."
He pointed out that "the Finance Committee will work to reduce the proportion mentioned in the budget to (3.8) or (2) and find a substitute for them."
