An internal national equation to face challenges

"In times of adversity, the true character of men is known." This saying literally applies to Iraqis, as Iraqi chivalry and generosity appear whenever adversity occurs, and this time the adversity is in Lebanon and Gaza, so everyone rushed to offer a helping hand, assistance and support, not as a favor from anyone, but as a duty, and the duty began with the supreme religious authority, the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the parliament, the political forces and the citizens from Zakho to Basra.
Amid the escalation of the popular campaign to aid the Lebanese, the official government spokesman, Basem al-Awadi, revealed to "Al-Sabah" that the government is working on two paths, the first is to move Arab, regional and Western, and the other is internal, by working to formulate a solid internal national equation that protects Iraq from slipping into the danger of war.
Al-Awadi said: "The government and all its executive bodies have taken into account the directives and statements of the supreme religious authority in dealing with the painful events taking place in Gaza and Lebanon as a result of the Zionist aggression."
He added that "the words, statements and directives of the religious authority were and will remain a roadmap for the Iraqi government to deal with the painful events resulting from the Zionist aggression, and that these directives and statements are the basis for our internal and external action to stop the tragedy," indicating that "the government, through its diplomatic channels, has intensified communication with the Western system, and urged finding a quick solution to stop the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon."
Al-Awadi noted that "in addition to what was mentioned, the Iraqi government, headed by the Prime Minister, is intensifying its efforts to communicate with Arab leaders in the Gulf system, Egypt and Jordan, and to activate the foundations of Arab solidarity in agreeing to double joint or individual Arab efforts to remove the specter of war from the region and guarantee the rights of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples."
The official spokesman confirmed that "the government has intensified internal communication with the country's top leadership within the framework of the Coordination Framework, the State Administration Coalition, and the Kurdistan Region, and is working to formulate a solid internal national equation that protects Iraq from slipping into the danger of war. It has also held individual meetings with various parties."
Amidst this picture, the Ministry of Interior announced yesterday, Saturday, the reception of 5,693 Lebanese refugees through the Baghdad and Najaf airports and the Qaim crossing.
