The General Company for Iraqi Ports denied, on Friday, the existence of an oil leak at the confluence of the territorial waters (Iraqi-Kuwaiti-Iranian).
The company's media manager, Salam Al-Shahmani, said in a statement received by (Mawazine News) that "the news that was reported about an oil spill at the confluence of the territorial waters (Iraq-Kuwait-Iran) is fake news and false." He continued that "the two tankers, Aframax Fortune Galaxy (9257010) and Serrano 2 (9165542), which were said to be the cause of the oil spill, were in the Strait of Hormuz on the same date and our observatories in the region did not record any cases of pollution." Al-Shahmani called on "all media outlets to be accurate in reporting news and to take it from its official sources."
