Secretary General of the Saudi Export Development Authority Saleh Al-Salami said that the Saudi participation in the oil and gas exhibition in Basra will enhance the volume of trade exchange between the two countries after the positive participation of the Authority in a distinguished pavilion at the Baghdad International Fair which includes 60 Saudi companies representing many economic sectors in the Kingdom.
Al-Salami said in a press statement that the exhibition represents an economic gateway and a platform for economic communication between the two countries to serve producers and exporters from both sides and provides an ideal opportunity to review investment opportunities between the two countries.
He said: "We seek to overcome obstacles to producers and facilitate export procedures between the Kingdom and Iraq."
Al-Salami pointed out that the approach to the Iraqi market came in the context of seeking "Saudi exports" to develop non-oil exports in the Iraqi market in particular and international markets in general and to provide tools and means that contribute to overcoming obstacles to Saudi national products.
It is worth mentioning that the Basra oil and gas exhibition offers a wide range of opportunities for international investors. The exhibition was attended by about 1300 international companies and sponsored by 60 companies. The scientific program on the sidelines of the exhibition was about 120 worksheets. The exhibition visited more than 8,000 visitors during the last six sessions since its inception. In 2010.
The exhibition is launched this year under the auspices of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and is the largest and only event that starts in the Republic of Iraq, representing the oil and gas industry.
