    Parliament: Parliament to postpone the elections for 6 months


    The head of the parliamentary legal committee Mohsen al-Saadoun, on Sunday, the possibility of postponement of the date of the elections by the House of Representatives, indicating "the presence of some political blocs seeking to postpone the election 6 months."
    Saadoun said in a press statement that "the House of Representatives will discuss the new parliamentary elections law in its next sessions, and sets a specific date for them in accordance with some circumstances and political and security requirements during the next phase."
    He pointed out that "the House of Representatives can vote to postpone the parliamentary elections for a period of six months in the absence of appropriate conditions for the most important, the return of displaced persons to their liberated areas, and complete the requirements of the Electoral Commission and infrastructure in the liberated areas."
    He stressed the presence of some political blocs seeking to postpone the elections, 6 months to complete the return of displaced persons and enhance security and political stability in the country.
