Finance confirms the availability of funds allocated to Basra

The Ministry of Finance, on Thursday, the availability of funds and financial framework and approvals for the completion of integrated water projects for the province of Basra, either through desalination or exploitation of water Tigris and Euphrates.
The Ministry of Finance Undersecretary Maher Hammad Jouhan said in a statement to the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" that "the file of water is one of the important vital files for the province of Basra, and therefore the funds necessary for this purpose are available," noting that " Not because of government decisions as it has been discussed by the prime minister and the ministers concerned several times. "
He added that "all approvals are open to release funds on water projects to be an integrated project for the province of Basra, either through desalination or exploitation of water coming through the Tigris and Euphrates and the financial framework is available."
He explained that "the delay occurred to the problems in the previous stage between the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and the province of those who go through the file as covered by a British loan and are committed to provide the necessary funds."
He pointed out that "the ministry is obliged to provide amounts for all water projects in the province of Basra and can be provided without the British loan to run the project the right path," stressing that "Basra does not currently have water projects stopped at all, and there is a joint venture with the Japanese Cooperation Agency is a water project Haretha is running trial and there is pressure from the Cabinet to enter into real operation quickly and the ministry continued communication with the governor of Basra.
