    The Ministry of Electricity announced on Wednesday the intensification of talks with Turkey, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to activate the joint electrical interconnection and supply of additional energy to Iraq, pointing out the presence of technical discussions with the Kuwaiti side to activate the issue of linking (ac) in the short term to import energy.
    "The ministry has adopted more than one direction to improve the state of electricity throughout the country quickly, not only to contract with Siemens," said Undersecretary Abdul Hamezah Hadi Abboud in a statement published by the official newspaper Al-Sabah. Intensify talks with Turkey, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to activate the joint electrical interconnection and supply additional energy to Iraq from these countries. "
    Aboud said that "the ministry agreed with the Turkish side during the visit of the Prime Minister to the recent completion of the Turkish-Iraqi link (connector island) (400 KV) and the initial agreement on the import of energy by (300) MW and actually was sent an invitation to the side Turkey for the purpose of holding a joint technical meeting between the Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Energy and Water, the Turkish meeting in Iraq to complete the technical discussions to enable the supply of energy agreed to Iraq.
    He pointed to "the existence of technical discussions with the Kuwaiti side to activate the issue of linking (ac) in the near term to import energy through the province of Basra, in addition to negotiations with them to connect through the system (dc) in the long term to link the Gulf countries with the European Union from During Turkey. "
