The head of the coalition of Iraqi decision, Osama Nujaifi, on Saturday, he will resort to the Federal Court to restore the right of Nineveh province in the federal budget for 2019, while the MP of the victory coalition in the province of Nineveh, former Defense Minister Khalid al-Obeidi, the total operational and investment funds allocated to the province Nineveh does not in any way reflect the real entitlement of this province, which is the second largest Iraqi province in terms of population, most affected by armed operations.
Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted Nujaifi as saying that "we will work to address the injustice that took place in the share of the federal budget through the parliament, or we will resort to the Federal Court," calling on all Nineveh deputies to solidarity to extract this constitutional right.
In a related development, MP Khalid al-Obeidi, who leads the victory coalition in Nineveh, led by former Prime Minister Haider Abadi, said that with the receipt of parliament draft budget bill for the fiscal year 2019, make sure that the total operational and investment allocated to the province of Nineveh does not reflect in any form Forms the real entitlement of this province, which is the second largest Iraqi province in terms of population and the most affected by the armed operations and the largest number of displaced.
"We affirm our rejection of the injustice of any Iraqi province, whatever the reasons and justifications, for our absolute belief that any defect, injustice or injustice in any Iraqi region is an attempt or step towards strengthening the enemies of state building and those seeking to undermine it.
He called Obeidi "members of the House of Representatives to return the draft budget to the government to give everyone right and without injustice or injustice, in accordance with the principle of national justice for all our provinces and our Iraqi people."
The newspaper quoted the governor of Nineveh, former Atheel Nujaifi as saying, that "the budget of Nineveh is not enough to sustain services away from any reconstruction ... It is the lowest amount received by the province of Nineveh compared to the years that preceded (da'ash).
He added that "the amount allocated is not enough for the reconstruction of a bridge, hospital, or even small projects .. It may be sufficient to provide only a small part of the needs of the municipalities of mechanisms or partial repair of electricity and water networks without adding any infrastructure projects of the city and without the provision of health services occasion".
He explained that "the share of the province of Nineveh natural pre-calculation of additions required because of the destruction is 10.6 percent of the Iraqi budget after cutting the sovereign expenses, while we find that the province of Nineveh did not get under this budget only 0.5% of the budget after the deduction of sovereignty.
"This issue will pose a threat to Nineveh, not only because of the lack of its services, but because it will give a new opportunity to extremism and ignorance to seize the minds of the desperate and discouraged."
It is worth mentioning that the draft budget in 2019, which was ratified by the government earlier and sent to the House of Representatives raised many objections by some MPs, especially about the price of oil and the quotas of some provinces and the Kurdistan region.
