    BAGHDAD / The first deputy speaker of parliament, Hassan al-Kaabi, pledged on Sunday to support and implement the fair demands of the people of Basra, pointing out the need to include the full rights of the province of Basra in the budget of 2019.
    Al-Kaabi's office said in a statement received by "Iraq News" that the latter "discussed with the coordination body of the demonstrations in Basra, the demands of the demonstrators and the mechanism to accelerate their implementation as far as the legislative authority and serious and effective cooperation with the government to implement what is related to them."
    Al-Kaabi summarized during the meeting, which he held with the coordination in the parliament building on Sunday, according to the statement, "the group of demands mentioned through interventions, and include the rights of the province and the amounts allocated to it in the current budget and petro-dollar allocations and appropriate representation in the Cabinet Cab, and provide jobs and eliminate corruption, In addition to the activation of laws and decisions disabled for the province, including the law of Basra, Iraq's economic capital and work to address the problem of electricity and salinity and water scarcity and the provision of drinking water, and other service problems that suffer from the province in general.
    The deputy speaker of the parliament, "the importance of revitalizing the investment side and benefit from the ports of the border province," pledging "the work of the House of Representatives in accordance with a plan to accelerate the implementation of the just demands and communication with government sectors for the same purpose as long as the popular protests continued within its course without the character does not serve Interest of the country "
