{Baghdad: Al-Furat News} The House of Representatives seeks to speed up the adoption of the financial budget for the current year 2019 after it was late than scheduled, amid parliamentary weights to be approved in the parliament session today.
"Differences over the budget have been divided into four types, and there is a parliamentary effort to approve them this week," MP Hassan Khalati, a member of the Alliance for Reform and Reconstruction, told a news briefing.
He explained that "the first differences on the formulation of the budget is the difference of members of parliament in views, and the second provinces, while the third that each political bloc specific views on some of the material budget, and four differences on the level of components."
"All the differences were raised in more than one session and the parliamentary finance committee took all the proposals and observations and worked to consolidate them in legal form consistent with the general frameworks in order to put them in the parliamentary sessions allocated to discuss the budget and vote on it."
The dispute over the share of the Kurdistan region of the budget is a dilemma facing parliament every year amid disagreement over the size of the financial allocations for the region. While Kurdish parties demand the allocation of 17 percent of the budget for the region, Baghdad rejects it and says the share is about 12 percent.
The MP for the construction coalition, Faleh Issawi said in a press statement that "the draft law of the general budget for the year 2019 is hoped to be passed in the session of the House of Representatives scheduled to be held on Tuesday, after resolving some of the issues and observations before the meeting."
He added that "the share of the Kurdistan region was adopted according to the population census of the region and it is unreasonable to grant Kurdistan more than the entitlement at a time when the cities destroyed by terrorism from poor services and neglect."
In addition to the share of the Kurdistan region calls for the liberated provinces of Nineveh, Anbar and Salah al-Din to provide financial allocations to keep pace with the amount of destruction, which was signed by the military operations against Daqash, especially Nineveh, which is still broken right completely destroyed, while Basra province calls for additional allocations to address the crisis of services and unemployment, Every day in the city for weeks.
