The US State Department confirmed on Wednesday that US forces in Iraq are at the request of Baghdad to help Iraq security.
"The US presence in Iraq is at the request of the Iraqi government," the ministry said, adding that "our presence in Iraq is to help Iraq security."
"We are concerned with a united and federal Iraq," she said, noting that "the terrorist threat remains high in the region."
