Parliament speaker reveals why postponement of the first session of the new legislative term

Khadija Ali said: "The Presidency of the House of Representatives decided to move the sessions of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] from the building of the Palace of Conferences in the Green Zone, to the building of the National Council in the former Alawi because of maintenance and restoration, and this procedure called for postponement of the first meeting in the second legislative term to Saturday, .
She added: "There is no problem in the transfer of meetings to the area of Alawi, especially as there are maintenance and restoration work in the conference room where the regular meetings."
The Presidency of the Council of Representatives had set earlier on the fifth of March, which is on Tuesday, a date for the start of the meetings of the second legislative term, but the date was postponed later to Saturday the ninth.
