BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's leading politician, Mithal al-Alusi, on Wednesday commented on a report by the Israeli Foreign Ministry saying that "Iraqis are leading the people who want to have relations with Israel."
"The people do not want to fight wars and do not want to lie and cheat, especially since the Iraqi people have suffered wars and Islamic lies and suffer from the Iranian occupation, they do not want to trade it again," said Alusi, a politician who advocates normalization of relations with Israel. .
"If Iran had not occupied Iraq, if the corruption of the Islamic parties had not been so, if the militias had not threatened the security of the citizens in the country if the citizens had not been part of them and a section of them would be willing. The Iraqis have another opinion.
