Oil prices rose on Tuesday, with hopes growing that OPEC and its allies could agree on further production cuts at this week's meeting.
Brent crude futures rose 17 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 61.09 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 25 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $ 56.21 a barrel, Reuters reported.
Two sources familiar with the matter said that OPEC and its allies, the group known as OPEC Plus, are considering a plan to increase the current supply cuts of 1.2 million barrels per day by 400 thousand barrels per day and extend the cuts until next June. Finished 25 h
