Abdul-Mahdi in his meeting with the European Union ambassadors: We are proud of Iraq’s partnership with the countries of the European Union
"Adel Abdel Mahdi," the resigned prime minister, today, Sunday, called on parliament and political forces not to prolong the term of the day-to-day running of government.
In a statement published by the media office of "Abdul-Mahdi", he said through him or the resigned prime minister had today received ambassadors of European Union countries in Baghdad, and during the meeting, "Abdul-Mahdi" affirmed Iraq’s pride in partnership and cooperation relations with the European Union.
He added, "Abdul-Mahdi," according to the statement that Iraq adheres to the principles of human rights, including the protection of the right to peaceful protest and the right to life, work and study, noting that the government has revealed in its report on the mistakes that occurred at the beginning of the demonstrations and the excessive use of force.
In the same scope, the resigned prime minister confirmed that investigative and judicial measures have been taken in this regard, and according to the statement, "Abdul Mahdi" indicated that "the government made a strict decision to confine arms to the state, but what is regrettable is the occurrence of sabotage operations carried out by vandals among the demonstrators. Peaceful people and the burning of state institutions, police stations, religious shrines, consulates and citizens' homes.
