    Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Communications announced its initiative to provide hospitals and quarantine centers with free internet access, as part of a campaign launched to support efforts to combat the Coronavirus.

    It revealed, "The technical and engineering staff in Anbar, Diyala and Basra governorates maintain optical cable networks in order to deliver the Internet and information technology services to the headquarters of the security forces stationed in those governorates, as an appreciation for the efforts of the security forces in supporting the security stability in the country."
    Chalabi added, “The quarantine centers in the holy province of Najaf were provided with free internet access, in cooperation with the companies (Isps). The internet service was delivered to the quarantine centers in the governorate, in addition to that the ministry has provided significant support to the educational platform for the ministries of education Higher and Scientific Research, as it provided the University of Kufa with a free package to perpetuate the educational process of the university, and to maintain communication between educational staff and students.
    And Chalabi added, "The company provided the Basra Teaching Hospital and Sports City with a free internet service as well, after a field inspection was conducted on hospitals and quarantine sites in the province in support of the patients who were sleeping, as a package of (50MB) was opened to Basra Teaching Hospital and (10MB) To the Al-Hajar site in the Sports City, work is still underway to connect the Internet service to the College of Medicine and to the other hospitals in the province that include quarantine sites for those infected with the emerging coronavirus. ”
