    [size=20]There is no doubt that occupying the security file in its traditional concept in general and in its cyber sense in particular is of great importance to countries in the current era in which technology, its tools, communication sites and its products have become an existential necessity through which the world scene is controlled, its strands are drawn, its boundaries are drawn and its maps are framed.



    Unfortunately, talking about this issue in Iraq is not free, in some aspects, of ridicule or criticism, especially with the breaches that took place several weeks ago for some official websites and pages and accounts belonging to institutions in the Iraqi government, and what is more disturbing than this, that some breaches have occurred More than once for the same party, which means that we have not yet understood the lesson and have not learned from mistakes, but have not realized the seriousness of what is happening or what we must take from precautions related to an important aspect of contemporary security.

    And when we review the Global Cybersecurity Index GCI, which was issued several months ago, we are shocked by the humble rank of Iraq in this regard. This is a detailed statement of the Digital Media Center on this topic.

    The report issued by the International Telecommunication Union of the United Nations has granted Iraq the 107th position in the world in cybersecurity, and the ranking is 13 Arabs. Four countries from the Arab world, namely Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Egypt, gained advanced positions in the first quarter of the Global Cybersecurity Index GCI.

    Although the rank of Iraq is higher than the year before, as it was ranked 158 globally and 19 Arabs, but any citizen has the right to wonder or ask about the reason for Iraq obtaining this rank especially that he was fighting a fateful battle against a terrorist organization that used cyberspace in his war Media and psychological against Iraq, and Iraq was facing a great challenge at this level, as its youth used these digital platforms in a professional manner and faced the organization with heroism, courage, professionalism and patriotism that matched them, so it was assumed, after these real experiences, that Iraq has extensive experience in this field from During his control of all the tools T develops cybersecurity plans and programs and enhances its environment to confront the terrorist enemy who has mastered work in this field.

    Analysts and observers in this specialization found, according to the indicator, that Iraq has failed to deal with major cyber security indicators and pillars that relate to legal measures related to cybersecurity, technical aspects, and organizational issues, as well as capacity building, training and cooperation.

    From a point of view I consider them objectively and have a good knowledge of the merits of this topic, we believe that the most important problems of Iraq related to this issue is the absence of an institution specializing in cyber security in Iraq, where what is present are sections in multiple departments lacking coordination or professional cooperation in this aspect, Each of them works on its own, and if this effort cannot be underestimated or underestimated at all due to the presence of talents and young people who have a wonderful mindset, if they were invested and directed properly, we would have completely different results from what is happening now.

    The Cybersecurity Authority that should be established, as suggested by the Digital Media Center, can take over the management of the digital security file in Iraq in all its aspects and manifestations and related to it, through independent professional competencies that are entered into intensive courses and trained professionally and with the assistance of a country with experience in this matter In order to establish a cadre and a nucleus from which to start in this body.

    Creating such a body dedicated to cybersecurity will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing digital awareness and strengthening security immunity among individuals, governmental and private institutions alike, and it will provide good ground and solid foundations to protect the infrastructure of government institutions that rely on technology in a large part Of her works.
