Iranian media affiliated with Shafaq News quoted Masjedi as saying: “I was very pleased after hearing the imposition of US sanctions against me. This American move strengthened the legitimacy of my activity to achieve the goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the people.”

The United States imposed sanctions on 5 Iranian entities, after accusing them of interfering in the presidential elections that will be held on the third of next November.
The Treasury Department said that among these entities is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, noting that it “worked to sow discord among the American electorate by spreading misleading information on the Internet and carrying out malicious influence operations aimed at misleading them.” End / 25
