Parliamentary agriculture is discussing the draft law on renting agricultural lands hosted by an official in the ministry

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water, and Marshlands, headed by Representative Salam Al-Shammari, and its members attended, on Sunday 3/7/2021, hosted the Director General of Lands at the Ministry of Agriculture on a brochure to discuss the report of the draft law on renting agricultural lands.
In a statement, the Euphrates News Agency received a copy of it today, the committee stated that "a meeting that was held at the committee’s headquarters included discussion of the report on the draft law on renting agricultural lands, where the committee reviewed the articles and paragraphs of the draft law and its views to finalize it and make amendments to it in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture." .
MP Salam Al-Shammari, head of the committee, stressed the importance of this law, which will regulate the process of exploiting agricultural lands, explaining how percentages are distributed according to the area of land, stressing the need not to include those who were convicted of misdemeanor according to Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, as well as setting the necessary conditions to ensure the reclamation of these lands.
The committee decided to postpone the contentious articles in the law and discuss them with the Minister of Agriculture to reach a final formula.
