Interior the increase in the market is considered "normal"
    Baghdad - Waad Al-Shammari:
Yesterday, Sunday, the Ministry of Interior described the increase in the price of some crops and consumables as natural, and attributed it to seasonal and other reasons related to the global market as a result of the Corona pandemic, this comes at a time, the Parliamentary Services Committee accused the government of causing this increase after insisting on raising the exchange rate of the dollar .
A member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, said, "The government bears responsibility for manipulating the prices of goods as a result of its insistence on raising the price of the dollar."
Al-Fatlawi added, in an interview with "The New Morning," that "the government decision regarding monitoring the markets will not yield its results, and it is still ink on paper, and we have not found any effect of it so far."
He noted, "Prices, especially for agricultural crops, are taking an increase in conjunction with the inability to control market manipulators."
Al-Fatlawi concluded, "The one who is most affected by this deterioration is the simple citizen who bore many consequences, especially with the increase in his basic products."
On the other hand, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Khaled Al-Muhanna, said, "The detachments of combating economic crime and the concerned departments, after following up on the markets, had many reports which they submitted to the ministry."
"These reports included some increases in the natural context, especially agricultural products, as the topic is related to the season and their abundance in the local markets," Al-Mihna continued, in an interview with "The New Morning."
He pointed out, "The materials that have witnessed a significant increase are specifically sugar and cooking oil, which are among the essentials of the Iraqi family."
"The current prices are linked to the rise in the global stock exchange, caused by the circumstances related to the Corona pandemic, especially for countries that produce these materials, and others have begun to increase their strategic stocks," Al-Mihna stressed.
And he stated, "Some people try to exploit any circumstance to achieve profits at the expense of the Iraqi citizen, through monopoly and speculation in the markets."
Al-Muhanna revealed, "arresting suspects who manipulated prices," and spoke about "a role for community police detachments that aim to educate and educate shop owners, especially in commercial areas such as Shorja and Jamila, and warn them that any price manipulation will put them under the penalty of law."
And Al-Mihna continues, that "the process of importing consumer goods according to the needs of the markets does not interfere with the Ministry of Interior, but is the responsibility of other parties."
He stressed, "The prices of materials do not have specific limits, as the Iraqi market is known to be open," noting that "our reports showed that the decisions to grant import of some products led to an increase in their prices in the local market."
The Iraqi market witnessed a new increase in prices, a few days after the House of Representatives voted on the budget law that included the exchange rate of the dollar at 1450 dinars.
